Amazon As An Employer Case Solution

1. What are the main ideas in the readings for today? What are three points you found particularly interesting?

The main idea focuses over how Amazon pressurized its employees to get their ratings and turnover at the top. An organization environment is supposed to be like a family considering you spend more time working there. Amazon tried to get employees to ruthlessly criticize each other’s work and surreptitiously send their criticism to their immediate bosses. The turnover at Amazon was high and a lot of employees did not stay for more than a few months. There was inconsiderate behavior and employees were expected to give extra hours without being rewarded for it. 

Three interesting points

• Irrespective of the fact that the company was treating its employees with utter disrespect and was exploiting them, it was still considered the best company and was as innovative as a new start up. It was still ranked as the best company.
